Oscar Grant and Johannes Mehserle

I think this is only really big news if you live in the bay. So yesterday Johannes Mehserle was convicted in the New Years shooting of Oscar Grant. The family of both people are the ones who truly have a true perspective on it. Everyone we are all just bystanders watching the soap opera unfold.

Yes, we all will have an opinion. Yes, we will feel like what we are saying make an ounce of difference. Yes, we all have our own biases. Yes, all we can do is watch, wonder, and look inside our own lives.

Mehserle just released and "apology letter" that is supposed to be remorse and regret for the family. Upon reading it you have to wonder is it? Or is it meant for us? The comments that people are leaving are either on one side or the other. I guess this day and age it's hard to say that we just want to avoid the drama, and really mean it. The stories, comments, and visuals leave you choosing a side like it or not. You may or may not outwardly express it, but you should listen to it. It is a reality check. Its the a side of you.

Taking all things into consideration it is difficult to really be unbiased. Living in the Bay Area you must have been living under a rock not to have had any exposure to this case.

I have my own opinions about it-some will agree others wil not. I ask myself does it really make a difference? Does it make a difference to Oscar Grant, his mother, his daughter, or any of the other people he left behind? Does my opinion matter to Mehserle or his family?

Highly doubtful, but the next question is: Was justice served?
